Transcultural Mental Health Centre
The Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) is a statewide service that promotes access to mental health services for people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.



The Centre recognises the significance of cultural and linguistic difference in mental health issues and uses a whole-of-lifespan approach, involving work with children, adolescents, families, adults and older people. .

TMHC has extensive project management experience at Commonwealth and State levels. The Centre manages projects using collaborative partnerships with consumers, carers and a range of mental health and health services, General Practitioners, non-government organisations, universities, key government agencies, welfare agencies, multicultural and ethno-specific services and culturally diverse communities across NSW.

Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing - The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing seeks to provide better mental health and healthier ageing for all Australians through a world-class health system.

BeyondBlue - The National Depression Initiative devoted to increasing awareness and understanding of depression in the community.

Centre for Multicultural Australia (CMA) - Assists the Government to promote Australia's cultural diversity as a productive and unifying force; acts as an external expert group in relation to the Government's multicultural policy and programs; and facilitates strategic working relationships between government, business leaders and private sector, and the wider community.

DepressioNet - DepressioNet offers a unique interactive framework which provides moderated 24/7 peer-to-peer support. Comprehensive information and resources about depression are also available. DepressioNet's Message Board and Chat allow people living with depression to share experiences, and five and receive support and encouragement.

Lifeline Australia - Throughout Australia there are 42 Lifeline Centres. On top of the 24 hour telephone counselling service 13 11 14 each Centre delivers a range of services based on the local needs.
